Registration has two stages: creating your account and finishing your plan setup. This guide walks you through both from start to finish.
Registration can be completed by the trustee or someone authorized to accept agreements for your company. Before starting, make sure you have your registration email open, your company EIN and address handy, and your payroll provider login credentials available, if applicable.

Stage 1: Create Your Account (Registration)
Step 1: Open Your Registration Email
Find the “Welcome to Vestwell” or “Register Now” email sent to the trustee’s email address. Click the Register Now button. This opens your plan-specific registration page.

Step 2: Create Your Login Credentials
Enter your email address and create a password for your new Vestwell account. Your password must meet the minimum requirements shown on screen. Confirm your password and click Continue.
Step 3: Verify Your Email
Vestwell will send a verification code to your email address. Check your inbox (and spam folder if needed), enter the code on the verification screen, and click Verify.
Step 4: Set Up Two-Factor Authentication
You’ll be prompted to set up two-factor authentication (2FA) for additional security. You can choose to receive codes via an authentication app or SMS. This step is recommended, but you can configure it later in your account settings.
Once complete, you’ll receive a “Registration Complete” confirmation email. This means your account has been created, but your plan setup isn’t complete yet. Continue to Stage 2.
Stage 2: Complete Your Plan Setup (Digital Activation)
After creating your account, you’ll be taken directly into the digital activation flow. If you need to return to it later, log in at signin.vestwell.com and you’ll be taken to where you left off.
Step 5: Confirm Your Company Information
Review the company details we have on file: legal business name, EIN, address, and plan name. If everything looks correct, confirm and proceed. If you see an error, see this article for guidance on what to do.
Step 6: Review and Sign Your Plan Agreements
You’ll be presented with your updated plan agreements, including your Terms of Service for Accrue Conversion Plans and any applicable fiduciary or investment agreements. Read each document and sign electronically by clicking Sign or I Agree. You can download copies at any time from My Plan > Documents > Agreements and Sponsor Disclosures.
Step 7: Connect Your Payroll Integration
Depending on your payroll provider, you’ll be guided through the necessary steps. You also have the option to add another admin here to complete this step on your behalf.
Step 8: You’re Done! Digital Activation Complete
Once you’ve completed all steps, you’ll receive a “Digital Activation Complete” confirmation. Your plan is now live on Vestwell, and you have full access to your employer portal.
