Your Transition Roadmap

While your specific dates will be shared in advance, most plans follow a two-week transition timeline from plan setup to go-live. Below is a high-level view of what to expect.

Week 1: Plan Setup & Blackout Begins

  • You register and onboard your plan in the Vestwell portal
  • The blackout period begins, temporarily restricting certain activities
  • Once setup is complete, you gain access to your employer portal

At this point, your work is largely done – Vestwell takes it from here.

Week 2: Plan Transfer & Go-Live

  • Plan assets and data are securely transferred to Vestwell (assets remain invested throughout the process)
  • Vestwell reconciles and loads all plan information
  • The blackout period ends
  • Employees receive invitations to register their Vestwell accounts

Transition Complete

Once employee access is restored:

  • Your plan is fully live on Vestwell
  • Normal plan operations resume
  • You and your employees can begin using Vestwell’s enhanced tools and features
