How to Complete Digital Onboarding

The Digital Onboarding experience is designed to collect the required information we need to set up your plan. The process consists of the following steps:

        1. Company Questionnaire 
        2. Plan Design (for some plans only*)
        3. Plan Launch Call**
        4. Payroll and Payment
        5. Census

*Note: The second step, “Plan Design,” will not be visible to “unbundled” plan types such as “Vestwell Recordkeeping Only” or “Vestwell Flex” plans. For these “unbundled” plan types, plan design will be discussed with your external Third Party Administrator (TPA). Instead of completing this step in the portal, you will automatically be brought to the next section of Digital Onboarding, titled “Payroll and Payment.”

**Note: This third “Plan Launch Call” step will not be visible to certain plans during Digital Onboarding. This includes:

  • “Unbundled” plan types such as “Vestwell Recordkeeping Only” or “Vestwell Flex” plans
  • "Full Consult" plans
  • Starter 401(k) plans

The scheduling of the Plan Launch Call will be conducted outside of Digital Onboarding for plans electing for a full plan design consultation and unbundled plans with a TPA. Starter 401(k) plans will not have a Plan Launch Call. Instead of completing this step in the portal, you will automatically be brought to the next section of Digital Onboarding, titled “Payroll and Payment.”

Once you register and log in to your account, you will be directed to a page that says, “Let’s get this plan started!” 

Navigating to Digital Onboarding

In the first step, the "Company Questionnaire," you will add various company and plan information. Once you fill out this page, you may click the Submit button to continue the rest of the onboarding process. 

During Digital Onboarding, you can invite other administrative users. If you choose not to do so during Digital Onboarding, you can always add more admin team members through your employer portal.
